                                                          Why yes, we do think it matters. It matters a lot!

                                                          From the fine details to big picture goals, we know our decisions about materials, partnerships, and daily operations can have far reaching effects outside this building. Climate change affects us all. It is personal. We have more progress to make, but here are a few ways we currently prioritize sustainability.

                                                          2. Reduce the use of harmful chemicals

Our fabric and down suppliers are bluesign® approved, so we know their processes and technologies are monitored and certified to minimize impact on people and the environment. All of our down is also RDS® (Responsible Down Standard) approved and certified to be ethically sourced.

                                                          While Katabatic Gear is committed to making UL gear that exceeds your expectations, it is equally important that we minimize our negative impact on the planet and its occupants. Whether it’s a special place in the backcountry, or the city you live in, we want to do our part to maintain healthy land, air, and water to keep this a comfy home for all. Though ours is not a perfect plan, we will continue to search for ways to improve our sustainability efforts, and minimize the impact of our operations on the planet.

                                                        This jacket is a bit heavier than what I had been using. I've used it on about 3 trips so far and I'm really happy with it. It's insanely comfy like being gently hugged. I got a medium and I'm 5'8 145lbs, it fits really well. I originally purchased this jacket because it is reputed as having one of the highest warmth/weight/cost ratios. So far those claims are holding up. I'm looking forward to putting this jacket to the test and I would recommend it.

                                                        An incredible jacket, for me the best of all. Loft, craftsmanship, packability, and warmth are outstanding. The question remains: When will the matching pants be available?

                                                        Future Design Suggestion

                                                        It would be great to see a future iteration of this jacket with a helmet-compatible hood. Such a feature probably doesn't speak to your current market, but given the quality, weight, and design of your jackets, adding a helmet-compatible hood would meet the needs of another large market of outdoor enthusiasts. The specs on these down jackets beat even those of the Euro climbing gear companies, and I think you'd see a lot of eager users. Plus, I'd really like one :). KG bags are the best bags I've used in 30 years, hands-down.

                                                        This is this best winter puffy ever made for moderate conditions

                                                        The jacket is very light and warm. I am in Chicago and the winters can be brutal and so far I've been using it without zipping it as it gets super warm. Looking forward to test it once we hit the negatives (F)! One suggestion I have for the Katabatic team is to add inside pockets for the next gen. I do feel I am missing those.
